Veterans tee off for State Champs at Goolwa

Angela Trevor reports

A strong field of at least 120 golfers turned up to enjoy the beautifully groomed course at Goolwa early on Monday morning for the SA Veteran State Championships played at the South Lakes Golf Club in Goolwa. There were a dozen women on the field, so I was fortunate to play with three great women - Carla Hirst from North Adelaide, Gloria Mossop from South Lakes and Wayne Best from Willunga.

Not only were they fabulous company but Carla blitzed the day by coming first in the ladies’ Stableford competition with 39 points, with Wayne right behind in 2nd place. Wayne also won the Living Choice hamper raffle which was drawn at the presentations after lunch and Judy Hamilton won the Nearest the Pin prize, also sponsored by Living Choice.

Katherine Stacey, sales consultant for Living Choice Flagstaff Hill, plied the field with bubbles and chocolate while chatting about the new village. The Ground-Breaking Ceremony for this exciting new village will be held at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club on Saturday 15th June – for more details, click here.
