The best decision I have ever made

I came to Leisure Lea Gardens towards the end of 1984, so I am now in my 27th year as a resident and coming here was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

When I came here there were only two blocks of self-care units so I was originally in one of them. After a couple of years the hostel and dining room were built and I moved into the hostel. The place has grown around me.

This is a wonderful place to live. The staff members are wonderful and care for all our needs and likes and dislikes in a way one could never imagine. This applies also to the kitchen staff and the food they prepare for us.

I always tell anyone who asks how I like it here that if residents are not happy here it’s their own stupid fault! They can’t blame anyone else.
