I knew Mum would be happy here
After my father died I was at a loss to replace the familiar, warm environment of home for my mother. It seemed increasingly impossible to replace the companionship of a lifetime companion for her, particularly for someone in her mid-eighties who now needed some extra domestic support.
After several unsuccessful attempts, I contacted Leisure Lea Gardens to investigate their supported care apartments. The moment I walked into the foyer area I knew that Mum would be happy here – for the first time after many disappointments the energy of the village seemed so buoyant and warm. In fact, I said to a friend, ‘I think I could live here myself’.
Six months down the track Mum has indeed settled in and is back to her old self. However, probably the one most outstanding contributing factor to her comfort and one which I could not have predicted at the outset is the fantastic quality of the staff.
The level of personal attention paid to each of the residents continues to amaze me and I am now able to rest assured that she is constantly in, not only capable, but caring hands. I now know that she will continue to thrive in this friendly and nurturing environment.”
