Cruising into retirement
After living in Thornleigh for 33 years, we have moved to Living Choice Broadwater Court Waterfront Estate. We have been looking at Over 55 lifestyle resorts since my retirement two and a half years ago and the villa we have moved into ticks all the boxes.
The villa is in a gated community and is a very roomy 210sqm – larger in fact than our old house. The aspect is east/west with lovely afternoon sun filling the back patio, family room and kitchen. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a huge lounge and a double garage for the first time in our lives. To top it all off we are at the end of a cul-de-sac, which has a back lane walkway access to a medium size shopping centre with Coles, banks, coffee shops, restaurants and more, plus a bus stop into Gosford only 150m away.
The estate also comes with a clubhouse with pool, spa, gym, pool table, library, woodcraft workshop, cinema, kitchen, bar and social area to boot. So we are really doing it tough as we cruise into retirement!
Elayne still works in Sydney and takes the express train to work. I spend my time cycling on the numerous bike paths, swimming laps in the pool, attending weekly happy hour, morning coffees at the Guru Café after dropping Elayne in the morning at Gosford Station, and preparing the evening meal for her return in the evening. Oh, and also my Thursday babysitting duties when I look after Matilda (2). Life is bliss but I have just realised that I am now too busy to relax and read a book!
