As part of Shine Retirement’s three-month festival of events, 15 clients enjoyed a wonderful Ploughman’s Lunch at Living Choice Twin Waters on 7th September. Resident helpers joined the visitors for lunch, tucking into a tasty meal of cold meats, salmon, salad, gourmet cheeses, pickles, sourdough bread and fruit served by the Resident Ambassadors. Then it was time to find out what living at the village was really like, with residents taking to the microphone to relate their personal experiences.
Robert Airs told of how he had been persuaded to host themed events and organise trips to the theatre, which had not only enriched residents’ lives but his own too. Others spoke of the friendships they had made, the importance of the on-site aged care facility and the ability to enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle. The testimonies all came from the heart and were no doubt very powerful in persuading the visitors to consider the village as their future retirement choice.
Following the lunch, the visitors were taken on tours of the homes available and the leisure centre facilities. Emma Plasier, Director of Shine Retirement said, “It was a wonderful event and the feedback was very positive. You have every reason to be proud of your villages.”
