Residents dig deep for cancer fundraiser at Leisure Lea Gardens

Donating her time to help raise funds for medical research has been a lifelong passion for Connie Cameron of Leisure Lea Gardens. Connie has a special interest in the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, having worked there for many years in both full-time and voluntary positions.

An annual fundraising event that raises much-needed funds for the Foundation is the Spring BBQ, including the Biggest BBQ held each year at Parliament House. With such an attractive courtyard and BBQ area at Leisure Lea Gardens, Connie thought it would be the perfect venue for a Spring BBQ. The residents agreed and the village’s Resident Ambassador team swung into action, arranging a thoroughly enjoyable event for the 80+ residents and clients attending. Representatives from the Prostate Cancer Foundation and senior staff from Living Choice attended too.

It was a picture-perfect Spring day and everyone enjoyed a great BBQ lunch surrounded by the award-winning gardens. Several raffles were also held, boosting the total amount raised for the Prostate Cancer Foundation to $1,200.
