Living the retirement dream

For many people, the term “Retirement Village” conjures up visions of tiny, boxy homes and elderly residents playing bingo. However, today’s villages are more like lifestyle resorts, offering retirees the ultimate lifestyle.

Living Choice’s Sunshine Coast retirement villages not only offer modern, spacious homes but numerous leisure facilities, health, fitness and social activities plus 24-hour emergency support, if you need it. The residents are active, fun-loving and proud of their homes.

Typical Living Choice residents are Brenton and Sue Jarrett of Adelaide who chose an apartment on the water at Living Choice Kawana Island and say they are “living the dream”.

“The only negative is the term ‘Retirement Village’ – ‘lifestyle’ should be used as we are all very un-retiring.  I am sure most people would have moved here for the ultimate lifestyle.

“Living in an apartment here is a wonderful experience.  Coming from South Australia and not knowing many people in the area, we feel very much at home. And with only six apartments on each floor you have the choice of mixing or keeping to yourselves – most times it is the former as our neighbours are like-minded people.”

Brenton and Sue love travelling, especially caravanning. “All we need to do is lock the door and hit the road.  Management will look after the mail and any issues that may arise.”

“Our apartment is spacious and has two balconies – one with a view over the water and the other has a view of the tennis court (which we make good use of).  There is lots to do at our Leisure Centre – what more could we ask for? We think it should be called ‘Living First Choice’!”
