Hollywood comes to Twin Waters

There were plenty of attractively dressed “femme fatales” bearing an uncanny resemblance to award-winning actress Kate Winslett at “The Dressmaker” event held at Living Choice Twin Waters on Sunday 29th May.

Inspired by the box office hit, talented resident Robert Airs organised a “Hollywood comes to the country 1950’s tea”, drawing on the theme of “The Dressmaker”, the popular revenge comedy-drama based on the novel of the same name.

The leisure centre was transformed into a Hollywood set, with appropriate props, 50’s style dresses on display, large floral arrangements and a table groaning with delectable afternoon delights. Residents were invited to dress for the occasion and did not disappoint, with many going to great lengths to recreate the great fashions of the 1950’s era. Even “mad Molly” made an appearance to thank Robert and his many helpers for arranging the enjoyable morning.

Since moving into the village in 2013, Robert has hosted many events themed around popular stage productions and films. Judging by the response to “The Dressmaker” function, residents will be counting the days to Robert’s next show.
