Flagstaff Hill hosts successful Women’s Golf SA Open Day

The Women’s Committee at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club rolled out the red carpet for golfers from throughout SA at the annual Women’s Golf SA Open Day on Thursday March 14th.

The competition was a 4 Ball Best Ball Stableford and was played in the most perfect conditions by 88 players, representing Flagstaff Hill and 15 other clubs, including Clare and Castle Cove, NSW. Susan Seja and Barb Capper represented Golf SA and Angela Trevor and Olga Chan represented the sponsors, Living Choice Flagstaff Hill.

Helen Trengove, President of the Women's Committee, thanked Living Choice for the generous prizes. “They were also present, on the grass, under their striking blue tent, to hand out chocolates and a glass of bubbles or soft drink. A very popular pit stop!” she said.

The winning team, with 55 points, comprised Ros Scrivens, Bev Johnson, Helen Jones and Sandy Mitchell, all from Flagstaff Hill and the runners-up, with 51 points, were Jan Davies, Anne Graham, Angela Trevor from The Stirling and Living Choice, and Liz Ricote from Mount Compass.

During the very tasty 2-course lunch the golf and raffle prizes were presented and one person per table won a lucky seat prize – a beautiful plant in a pot. Susan Seja thanked the Flagstaff Hill Women’s Committee for hosting a successful day and spoke about the guidelines from Golf Australia for the promotion of equal opportunity for women and girls in golf.

Helen said there were many positive messages that were sent after the event, thanking the committee for such a successful day.

“Congratulations to the committee as it was a great success all round.”
“Congratulations on a really successful day. It was excellent in all respects.”
“Loved the lucky chair prizes and the food was wonderful.”
