Development of a state-of-the-art Estia Health residential aged care facility at Living Choice Twin Waters continues with 80% of the East building now complete.
The five-star facility is really beginning to take shape with external brickwork underway and ground floor windows and lifts to be installed during December and January.
Set to be a stunning addition to the Sunshine Coast, the home will feature modern, comfortable living areas, dining rooms, a community garden, hairdressing salon, library and sensory garden for residents with dementia.
With 114 rooms with private en-suites, Estia Health Twin Waters is on track for completion in mid-2017. Estia owns and will operate the Twin Waters aged care home however Living Choice’s construction division has been engaged to build it.
Living Choice Project Manager, Warren Danter, said early design coordination, planning and procurement had paid off with the program on track to meet deadlines.
“Internally works are on schedule with services and internal linings driving the critical path. The unique Porte Cochere, cantilevered slabs, raking high level windows, complex facade consisting of external brickwork, a variety of cladding systems and rendered foam window surrounds are taking shape, offering an early perspective of the final result,” he said.
“External works on Ocean Drive are due to commence in the New Year which will introduce a turning lane and pedestrian refuge,” he added.
Residents at Living Choice Twin Waters and Living Choice Kawana Island will have priority access to the home, subject to the usual assessment criteria.
