With Woy Woy Public School being over the road from Living Choice Deepwater Court, it’s no surprise that a strong bond has developed between the residents and the school pupils.
Over the past 18 months, Kindergarten students and teachers have visited residents once a term, singing Christmas Carols, parading their Easter hats and making Mother’s Day cards with the residents. The children are currently rehearsing for their next visit on 1st September, to celebrate Father’s Day.
As a gesture of appreciation, Living Choice recently donated $1,000 to the school and a giant cheque was presented by Tim Bentley, General Manager NSW Central Coast & QLD, at the school’s Education Week Assembly.
Dan Betts, Assistant Principal, said the donation would go a long way to helping fund and support educational programs at the school and was very much appreciated.
He thanked Tim, Deepwater Court resident Thea Brayshaw, who has been the primary point of contact between the school and the village, Andy Dudney (village manager) and residents Carolyn Elwin and Denise Wallis for attending the assembly. “We also thank our wonderful Kindergarten teachers and students for representing the school with pride and hope to continue this relationship for a long time to come.”
