Community spirit on show at Woodcroft

If you could bottle community spirit, you would have run out of bottles at the Hobbies & Lifestyle Fair held at Living Choice Woodcroft on 23rd November.

The strong community spirit was evident everywhere, from the warm welcome the Resident Ambassadors gave to the visitors to the enthusiasm with which the residents displayed their many hobbies and showcased their lifestyle. Even the outside community got involved with members of The Vines Uniting Church firing up the Living Choice sponsored BBQ to feed more than 300 people.

The Wellness Centre team members were also there, promoting their wide range of services which are also available to the public.

The fair was a triumph for the chief organisers, Mary Nolan and Judy Tilley, who got plenty of help from their husbands, Barry and Doug, dozens of resident helpers plus, of course, the village manager Gail Pounsett and her team and sales manager, Katherine Stacey.

As Living Choice Ambassador, Keith Conlon OAM, said at the opening, the success of the inaugural fair bodes well for many more fairs in the future and the village’s award-winning leisure centre is the perfect place to hold it.
