Broadwater Court’s Kathy certainly knows her footy!

Dave Grassby reports

All hail Queen Kathy! What a result for Kathy Mitchell of Living Choice Broadwater Court who not only took out the 2017 Living Choice NRL footy tipping competition but came second in the AFL comp as well, losing narrowly to another female resident, Faye Nobes of Living Choice Woodcroft. Who says women don’t know their footy!

Every year, Living Choice residents and staff members register on the Living Choice competition page via the ESPN website and tip for the chance to win a total of $2,000 worth of cash prizes, which are donated by Living Choice directors Graham Hobbs and Ian Tregoning.

Kathy (pictured above with competition manager Dave Grassby) received $500 for winning the NRL comp and $300 for coming second in the AFL comp.

In the NRL comp, 2nd place went to Scott Henry from Glenhaven Construction and 3rd was Alan Odgers of Broadwater Court. Scott and Alan won $300 and $200 respectively.

In the AFL comp, Faye showed us all year that being consistent week in, week out is the key to a great year. Faye was pushed at times but showed what it takes to win the $500 prize for 1st place. Tipping maestro Kathy Mitchell was 2nd and won $300 and 3rd was Ernie Hatton of Living Choice Twin Waters, who received $200.

With both competition winners being women, it will be interesting to see if we have any male winners next year – bring it on!
