An afternoon with Australia’s sporting stars

Living Choice Fullarton residents and clients were treated to an enjoyable afternoon with Australian sporting stars on 11th February and what an inspiration they were!

Guests of honour were SA Football Hall of Fame inductee, Tony Modra, known as the Crows’ greatest goalkicker, Joey Wright, head coach of the successful Adelaide 36ers and Trish Adams, head coach of the 2017 Senior Australian Women’s Lacrosse Team. They were interviewed by Living Choice ambassador, Keith Conlon OAM, whose relaxed interviewing style drew candid and often humorous responses from the sporting VIPs.

Tony, Joey and Trish weren’t the only sporting greats on show, however. Members of the Australian Women’s Lacrosse team were in town for a training camp to prepare for their World Cup campaign and also made an appearance, impressing everyone with their dedication and enthusiasm. In contrast to representative basketball and AFL players, Lacrosse players – even those who play for their country – get very little media recognition and financial support.

Director Graham Hobbs, an avid sports lover, said Living Choice was a proud sponsor of lacrosse, as well as many other sports, including AFL, basketball, seniors’ tennis, bowls, golf and croquet. “We also strive to inspire our residents to live healthy, active lives and have a number of health and wellness services at Living Choice Fullarton that are open to both residents and the public.”

At the event, there were information tables showcasing the wellness services available at Fullarton, including physiotherapy by Flex Clinic, GP services by Genwise, massage and reflexology by The Body Philosophy, podiatry by the Healthy Foot Clinic and water aerobics by Belinda’s Fitness for Seniors.

Everyone was entered in the lucky draw to win an Adelaide Crows football signed by Tony Modra – congratulations to the winners, John Stoddard of Fullarton, Maureen Allen of Daw Park, Michael Ramm of Highgate, Joan Williams of Westlakes, Eddie Wong of Kingswood and Margaret Sandford of Edwardstown.

Visitors also took the opportunity to inspect the apartments currently available for sale. To book your personal tour, phone Angela at 1800 055 749.
